Passagiers stellen vaak de vraag: “hoe lang duurt het om ballonpiloot te worden?” De speaker tijdens de Friese Ballonfeesten gaf het antwoord 😉
Bij deze daarom nog even een impressie van mijn opleiding van anderhalf uur 🤣

Thanks for taking me along in your balloon basket--loved it.
I liked the "fast" sheep milling about as you landed. :D Interesting house neighborhood with water all around. It was easy to find on google earth. It looks like a maze, but I'm not sure how one leaves the neighborhood by boat. I am seeing what look like canals that lead away. Beautiful greens in the farm fields.
So nice to watch what looks like an uneventful landing--is it as peaceful as it looks? And what time of day is this? Thanks for sharing a bit of ballooning with us.
Yes this was an uneventful landing, the passengers actually really liked it ;) We fly in the last two hours before sunset. This was just before sunset.

So much fun!!! I had to watch your video 3 times....first to see all the balloons, second to try and read the sub titles, and third, to actually read the sub titles because on my second try, I got caught up in watching all the balloons again!!! Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

Took a ride in a balloon years ago in northern New York. It was awesome. Landing a little scary.

@@HotAirBalloons we landed in a small field next to a school, near electrical wires, bumped and started to skid. Pilot called to two teenagers to come and help hold it, till she could deflate baloon. Ground crew was about ten minutes away. Ride so peaceful. Went high, low, tree tops. Fantastic ride!

Beautiful view--how do you navigate when you're above the clouds? Compass read--GPS--or do you just hope for a break in the clouds?
Balloons fly under "Visual Flight Rules". That means that you have to be able to see the ground, at all times. In this video it is not really clear, but the pilots were still able to see the ground. Most pilots navigate with maps, GPS and computers.

I dropped in from "Friesian Horses" channel to check out your hot air balloons!! Is the "smiley face" considered an animal? If it is, that's my favorite--if it's not, then, the cheetah is my favorite. Thanks for sharing your extra fun ballooning adventures with us.
Sue I think animals can have fun too & smile 😉 We also really like the smiley balloon! And cheetah is also a beautiful balloon 😀 (and they say it is a very fast balloon 💨🎈)

Sue These balloons are in a competition flight. They all fly in the direction of the same target (a big fabric “X” in a field) where they have to drop a small bag of sand (a marker) The pilot that drops his/her marker the closest to the middle of the “X” wins the task. The pilots fly very close to eachother because they all want to win. It might look scary, but these pilots are all very skilled and are keeping a sharp lookout for the other balloons 🎈
